Calum has played the cello from age nine, developing a unique approach by intertwining his strings. Influenced by Peter Gabriel, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, Jack White, and John Martyn, he’s a prolific composer and performer. Credits include; off-Broadway Show Devision Avenue, Best Sound Design - The Midtown International Theatre Festival, New York City, headlined Scotland’s Wicker Man Festival acoustic main stage, headlined Oxfam’s Glasgow Oxfam Festival, Cream’s Jack Bruce celebratory concert alongside Mick Taylor, Steve Hackett, Bernie Marsden Lulu and Eddi Reader, duetted with The Police’s Stewart Copeland on Sky Arts TV series “Tony Visconti’s “Unsigned Heroes”, France’s Blues Autour Du Zinc Festival, collaborated with Vieux Farka Tore, the Ronstadt Brothers, Jasmine Rodgers, supported Jack Bruce and American reggae superstars Soja. His debut album was nominated for Best Album and for the Kevin Thorpe Award at the British Blues Awards in 2014. In 2019 Calum appeared in a video performing “Imagine” that was showcased on John Lennon’s social media platforms to help raise awareness for five charities. “Music is a powerful thing that can heal and bring people together lifting their spirits,” says Calum. I’ve seen this first-hand while working with “Musicians in Exile,” a group that helps asylum seekers and refugees. It is great to give back.”
